21 Years Later...

HEY, Kev did it! Poor guy, he's been trying to make me a chocolate angel food birthday cake from scratch for 21 years. He's put in numerous distress calls to my mom and visited a bakery, but there was always an issue. This year he appears to have perfected it. He asked me to watch him make it yesterday. After defining "soft" and "stiff" peaks by example and "sifting 3 times" (yet I only do it once), he feels more confident in his baking attempts. The cake that normally only measures a couple of inches in height has grown! It's full angel food cake height on birthday 45! As soon as they get home from baseball, we'll do the taste test.

I'm so proud of him for being persistent. So, it took him 21 years to ask me to stand by and watch him.
