Catcher's Gear

So, as I was telling my stories this week Kole offered some words of advice--"Take my catcher's gear, Mom.". At first I laughed and then I thought he might be onto something. The catcher's mask would protect from being spit at, the shin guards would be my defense when being kicked, and the chest protector would help when someone is charging me. Why is it those stories he recalls the most? (Maybe it is his vision of me in those situations that he can't get out of his mind?) Yes, there are days like that, BUT there are also days like this: students laying around the room reading and discussing books, teachers laughing with students, children saying "I like school!", teachers singing praises of others, parents giving all they have to see their babies successful, and such a positive environment! Bruises will fade but positive memories will always touch my heart!
