Destin--Day 1

We arrived in Destin, Florida on Sunday, July 1 at 3:00.  It took us exactly 10 hours.  We found the condo with no problem.  Getting the keys was a bit more of a challenge; however, if we would've read all the instructions first, we would've been just fine!  We had the van unpacked in 30 minutes and were beach-bound.  We ordered pizza in for the night, took a 30 minute walk, made a Walmart run, and watched the rest of the Olympic Trials.  We were all tired and headed to bed by 9:30.

Today I didn't wake up until 7:00--wowzer was I tired!  I got up and was bummed to know that Kev had been up for an hour and had his morning run in.  I soo wanted to run on the beach but my cough has not stopped for 24 hours!  Oh, well, the rest of us were up and moving by 8:00 and suits on, staking out our beach territory.  Kylie and I had books in hand and the guys were in the water playing catch.  I managed to get a nap in while the three of them were dodging waves.  We went in for lunch and to cool off at 12:30.  An hour later we were back on the beach.  I finished 2 books and took a walk by myself and with Kev.  Hearing the waves and all the laughter was very relaxing.  By 5:30 we were cleaned up and ready to go get some dinner.  Kole selected Callahan's using the Urbanspoon ap and he did well!  I established the rule that we could only eat at places we've never been to before--and no Chili's in Florida (never been to that one) didn't count!  We ran into Walmart on our way home to get a few more things and are now sitting outside enjoying the stillness of the evening.  Kev and Kole are giving fishing a try.  We are going to play 500 before calling it quits for day 1.  What a relaxing first day!
