Destin--Day 3 Happy July 4th!

We began the morning by watching dolphins.  Yep, I could get used to this!  After breakfast we staked out our beach territory.  One of the best parts of this condo is that we have our own private beach.  The chairs and umbrellas are only for residents of the condo.  Those who visit the beach can't camp out in our territory.  That is nice!  Kole tested out his boogie board and the guys played catch in the water for awhile.  Kylie and I enjoyed reading our books, although I think I'm the only one on the beach using a highlighter!

We went in and ate lunch around 11:00 and then hit the beach again.  We did notice it clouding up throughout the morning, but by 2:00 a crack of lightning sent us packing up!  We had just gotten in the condo and it poured, along with the wind picking up.  The beach cleared out, except for one lady who was bound and determined she was going to hold onto her canopy.  Well, the wind won out and it wasn't long and her purple canopy went flying across the beach.  The storm lasted about an hour, and then it continued to rain off and on the remainder of the afternoon.

Around 5:30 we left for dinner.  We had planned to go to McGuire's Irish Pub.  When we pulled up we saw quite a line already so Ky suggested we get out and get our name on the list while the guys parked--good plan!  The wait was only going to be 15 minutes, so that wasn't bad at all.  Unfortunately when they called our name, the guys still hadn't secured a parking spot, so we had to give our spot up and then just tell them once our entire party was present.  At this point Ky and I knew how frustrated the guys must be so we decided we'd just find them and go somewhere else and come back on TH to eat at McGuire's.  Once we saw the van, they had found a parking spot.  We walked in and got a seat quickly.  It is a very big place with $1 stapled from the ceiling, over $1 million!  I enjoyed a guacamole burger and a raspberry beer that they brew themselves.  Kev had a chocolate beer and Kole enjoyed their own brewed root beer.  We all even enjoyed desserts afterwards.

We then walked over to the Harborwalk to decide if we wanted to stay there for fireworks.  It was super crowded, but a fun atmosphere.  We hung out there for a little while, but then decided since then decided to head back to the beach since there wasn't any seating and traffic was going to be a nightmare!  We took towels down to the beach and watched fireworks in both directions.  The air was very refreshing.  While laying on the towels we recalled past July 4ths.  What a great end to a day!
