1 Down, 2 to Go!

Well, I had my Lamar Comprehensive exam today. Left the house at 5:30 AM to drive to Beaumont, driving in darkness, construction zones, and fog. Not to mention the GPS saying 15 times (before I shut it off) RECALCULATING...UGH! Once I got to campus, I was struggling to find the education building. Since it is 7:20 AM NO ONE is out and about; however, I do see a police officer, so I wave him down. He was unable to help me because he wasn't a campus officer and he was chasing a DWI driver who apparently was driving on the campus grounds, and I don't mean the streets! I finally did find someone who was very helpful. I enter the building and realize my tuition is NOT going towards maintenance of buildings--nothing like the beautiful A&M campus! Kylie, do NOT consider Lamar for your undergraduate work!

The professor spent an hour going over test taking tips, which were very helpful. I had read his tips online, but hearing them again was helpful. Started the test at 9:00 and finished the 100 items at 12:15. I then stood in line for 30 minutes to get it scored. I needed an 80 and got an 80. I stayed for the review session. It was great, as I learned I only missed 2 in the first 50 so that told me I need to get up 1/2 way through and take a break to make myself more alert. 3 of those I missed, I challenged the professor on (very professionally of course) and he agreed my answers were correct and gave me 3 more points to score an 83! Of those I did miss, 1/3 I had changed the answer, 1/3 I had it narrowed to 2 and chose the wrong one, and 1/3 I was sure I had right but didn't!

I have 2 more BIG tests. I will take an ESL certification test April 19. I will find out MON if I can take my Texas Principal test on April 17 or if I need to wait until June 26.

THE END IS DRAWING NEAR!!!

And that is another reason why I am NOT going back to school. I hate taking tests!
