Getting Lost

No, this entry isn't about getting lost while traveling. I'm a woman and NOT afraid to ask for directions! I even asked a hiker on a "trail" we thought we were on.

This is about "getting lost" in a book. Being in grad school has not given me much time to read for fun. That was one of my goals over spring break--read for fun. I read 2 great books, Look Again (by Lisa Scottoline) and House Rules (by Jodi Picoult) which were both excellent books. I don't know how I can get so caught-up in a book that I'm almost removed from reality. Is that what makes a great book a great book? House Rules reminded me so much of one of my former students. Look Again just kept me on the edge of the pages. Both books made such strong connections with me about being a mom and doing anything for your children.

I've heard many people get upset about being lost; however, getting lost in a book is a wonderful feeling for me. As of JULY 2010, I plan on getting lost often as I'll be done with grad school. No GPS needed for reading books!
