So, it's Friday the 13th! I kept wondering all week what this day would bring. Since I was up at 4:00 AM with Busy Brain disease and it's now 10:20 PM (way beyond the lights out at 8:00 on a Friday), I'm beginning to think it was the 13th for sure!
Busy Brain woke me up with "things to do", all work-related. Why cleaning the bathrooms dusting don't cause me busy brain I'm unsure...Anyway, I decided to lay in bed until the alarm went off at 5:15 for a run. When the alarm went off, Kev slept right through it. This was a sign he was not going to be getting up with me, so I decided to instead run upstairs to start acting on things on my busy brain list. 6:00 I'm in the shower and out the door at 6:45--feeling guilty the entire time that I didn't go run :(
Had an awesome day at new teacher staff development. Saw some awesome math instructors who are dynamic presenters--they even made math look fun to me once again! By the afternoon the teachers were looking very glazed over as they had reached brain overload. Maybe they too were suffering from busy brain.
Tonight was mine and the kids' night together as Kev was "hanging" with some of his old coaching buddies! We went to dinner at Chili's, ran to Staples for printer ink, spent what seemed like an eternity in Academy while Kole was getting his CO2 tank filled, and then went to Walmart. I usually save Walmart runs for SUN but just can't stand to wait in those lines! Since we don't lead a very exciting life on FRI, I thought the place would be empty--guess again! Way more shoppers than people checking out--again it felt like an eternity. Walmart then didn't have a can of Hershey's syrup for brownies, so we had to make a Kroger run. The entire time, Kole and I were planning on running when we got home. NOPE--it was 9:00 and we were both beyond tired. No running today :(
So, I decided to print all Kole's baseball forms off instead for him to take to practice in the AM. PROBLEM--all of a sudden I can't print from my laptop. I problem-solve the best I can, but with no luck. I then go to Dell chat online but they were unable to help at that time due to volume of calls or they were in break--still not sure. I WILL NOT GIVE UP!!! I keep working at it and discovered that somehow I messed with the pop-up blocker which messed with the printer connection--I still don't get it, but when I resumed my pop-up blockers to original state, all of a sudden I can print.
So, it's 10:10 and I'm ready for bed. Ky walks into the office and says, "Gee, you're really slacking on your blogging!" Great, another challenge! So, here I am blogging. I have been up nearly 19 hours and the alarm is going off at 6:00 to go run! I won't miss another day of running, as I'm beginning to think maybe that's why the day went downhill...Not that I'm superstitous or anything.
The best part about Friday the 13th--Ky learns she's in the top 4% of her class rank. YAHOO for her. I'm so proud of her. One more week and she begins her senior year. Watch out A&M, she's almost knocking on your door!
