We arrived in Saline, Michigan Monday afternoon around 3:00. It was a beautiful drive from Dubuque. We only stopped twice, once to stretch and once for lunch. Ky drove a 2 hour stretch in the middle of the trip. Kev drove his folks out in their car. We would alternate who was leading the way, which appeared to make Kole nervous as he thought only Kev knew the way. It was a very short drive compared to the other driving we've done!
Everyone except for Kathe's brother was there for dinner Monday night. We enjoyed visiting with everyone prior to dinner. After eating sloppy joe's, we took Ky to Stephannie's grandma's to try on her dress. It fit great. The hem was measured and grannie will finish that up. We then went and saw Erich and Stephannie's house and then Ron and Sandra's house. Both homes are beautiful and they should be very proud.
On Tuesday, the guys began their golf outing. It was one of the hardest courses they played, and yet Kole insisted on driving from the same place as the big boys! While they were golfing, I worked on some workshops I'm giving when I get back. Ky played cards with Jessie and the grandparents. That night we enjoyed a nummy chicken dinner. After dinner the cousins played frisbee and then some rough-housing inside. Lots of laughter!
Wednesday the guys were off golfing again. I enjoyed finishing another book, Little Bee. Kathe's brother Steve arrived in the morning and we caught up with him. While Jessi was at the gym, Ky and I went and did a little shopping. They have the most amazing Borders book store, although I told myself I wouldn't buy anymore books. Thank goodness someone called from work that I needed to leave and get some information off my laptop, or I may have broken my promise of not buying anymore books. I've been going back and forth about investing in a Kindle or Nook. I'm really leaning towards the Nook, but won't make a decision until I finish all my books "waiting to be read" pile--hopefully before school starts! On our way home from Borders we picked up Gene and Max so they could play cards with Jessi and Ky. Wednesday night we enjoyed a Mexican dinner at Ron and Sandra's, along with a nummy oatmeal cake.
Today the boys are off golfing again. Dress rehearsal is at 4:00, so it'll be a R&R day for us prior to rehearsal. I think I'll start a new book!
