A Few Moments of Silence

After watching Kole's basketball team win and Ky had left for swimming, I went home and had 2.5 hours of silence. There are certain times that silence is nice--thinking hard about how to present something, trying to comprehend a research paper that is very "technical" for grad school, and other times just because. Just because--God has created such a beautiful world and we can take a few minutes to enjoy the silence of it which then leads to a moment of prayer thanking Him for all his creations and the blessings we've been given. I wonder after 1.5 week's following Haiti's disaster is there silence? Maybe they don't "hear" silence, but I'm sure they feel silence.

Time to take KJ for a quick walk so I can experience the silence of night. Maybe I'll then be able to experience longer silence in the night as KJ has been up at 3:30/4:00 AM this week and I seem to be the only one awakened by her lack of silence! So, maybe if she gets some exercise before she goes to bed, we'll all enjoy the beauty of silence a little longer!
