Okay, I know I'm supposed to "blog" about things as they happen; however, since I just got this started, I thought I'd do a quick recap of our week.
On Tuesday, Kylie had a swim meet that was a Senior Recognition Meet. Rather than do the normal races, they cut the length of each race in half. The very last relay was one in which 8 swimmers each swam one length of the pool and did something "out of the ordinary" during their swim. Ky was the anchor and chose to swim her entire length under water. Yes, she did it! (I have it on video and will attempt embedding video some other date.) During the middle of the meet both teams recognized their seniors. Hopefully the senior parents next year can think of some ways to make it more of a recognition and expect every parent to be there. This year of the 5 graduating seniors, only one swimmer had his parents in attendance. How sad!
Thursday Kole had a basketball game. His team won and he scored 5 points. He is definitely the defensive player, but each game it is exciting to see his ball handling skills improve and his confidence excel. He even puts his tongue in his cheek at times--a trait passed onto him from Kevin!
Tuesday-Thursday I attended a leadership training. It was exceptional. The presenter really made me think ouf of the box and as he phrased it "agitated" our thought processes. I needed that class as part of my grad work.
Friday night I was able to get almost all of our laundry done and worked on my grad school assignment. I just have to review my assignment before submitting it tomorrow. So far the class seems very doable.
Looking forward to a 3-day weekend!
