A Night With Parents

Okay, most of you know that our parents live 1200 miles away, so what could the title of this entry mean?

I had the opportunity to speak at a curriculum night tonight with one of our kindergarten teams. They asked jokingly if I would talk to parents about reading, and I jumped on the chance! I was missing my friends who call me Mrs. S!

Such a rewarding experience it was! I first explained different reading strategies their children were using and then engaged the parents and students in a read aloud where the kindergarten students (dressed in their PJs) stopped and talked to their parents at various points. The students then got their book bags and overtook the library, reading to their parents. It was precious!

I loved interacting with the families. Made me really miss being at a campus. More to think about for what I want to be when I grow up!

Sounds like you had a great night! That campus was blessed to have you join them. :)
