Dear Kylie,
Sorry to disappoint you, as you probably thought you were going to read about more friends. That will have to wait for another day! I thought you should know about the eve of your birth, since we are on the eve of your 18th birthday!
May 11, 1993, a Tuesday, I was at a PEO meeting at Debbie Hance's house. She used to live in Copperfield and now has 3 boys (you've met her at a ball game before). At this point you were 2 days overdue, but I was still feeling good. Shortly after I got home, 9:30ish my water broke. We grabbed the bag and got in our blue Honda. Your dad was so nervous, but drove fairly calm to the hospital. I was having a few contractions but nothing that painful. By the time we got to Houston NW hospital I was still doing great. We were admitted and then the fun began! The contractions started getting a bit more intense so I had my epidural "PAID" receipt in my purse so there'd be no controversy! Once I had my epidural, things started progressing. I'm unsure what time it was, but the DR came in and said it's time to push. 3 pushes later and you were born at 7:01 AM--7 pounds, 12.5 ounces, and 21 inches long.
And, so that began the next 18 years of our life! You have brought us so much joy and it is so hard to believe you are about to be 18 years old! I'm sure there have been many days when you've thought, "Oh, 18 when will you get here?!" But just wait, the next 4 years of your life will be some of the most exciting times and fastest times!
