May Challenge: Day 16--Church Family

May 16, 2011

Dear Kylie,

As I was thinking about Sr. Recognition at church yesterday (goodness the tears came easy!) I reflected upon your years in church and can see why you consider church another family.

When we joined Cornerstone, we joined due to the young families. We wanted to meet other young families and hoped to get you into the preschool. Pastor Gail welcomed us to the church and we felt part of the Cornerstone Family right away. You LOVED the children's sermons! While others would look around, play around, even try to run around, you sat there criss-cross applesauce and would raise your hand to answer Pastor Gail's questions. Throughout the week you would remind us of her message. There were many times I told Dad you'd be a pastor when you grew up! And that all started when you were 3 or 4 years old!

You loved Sunday School and VBS. You started going to youth groups. Laura had a big influence on you and you tolerated Roger. Kelly has influenced you greatly as well. Confirmation was a powerful time for you. Your work with Liz and your faith statement were amazing!

And now here you are, about to find a new family of faith to worship with at College Station. I know it won't be the same, but you'll find some amazing opportunities by getting involved with a church there. I pray God continues to bless you and speak to you as you find your way through life.
